Loratadine and Ibuprofen

allergy medication, over the counter

Is it safe to take loratadine and ibuprofen together?  Is there a drug interaction with ibuprofen [found in Advil® and Motrin®] and Loratadine [the active ingredient of Claritin®]?using-loratadine-and-ibuprofen-together

There is no interaction between the two over-the-counter medications.  Loratadine is non-drowsy antihistamine or allergy medication.  Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication.  The combination can work well to treat allergy or cold symptoms.

Remember, ibuprofen may not be for everyone.  It should be used with extreme caution in those with stomach problems and heart conditions.  Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if these medications are safe for you.
