Is Tylenol [acetaminophen] an NSAID

over the counter

Tylenol [acetaminophen] is it an NSAID?

NSAIDs are non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs.  They are usually used to treat aches, pains and fever.  Popular over-the-counter NSAIDs include aspirin, naproxen and ibuprofen.  NSAIDs can cause stomach and kidney problems and should be used with extreme caution in patients with heart and blood pressure conditions

Tylenol [acetaminophen] is not an NSAID.  It has actions in the central nervous system to help reduce fever and pain.  Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory and not a blood thinner.  Acetaminophen does not irritate the stomach, affect blood pressure or kidneys.  At regular doses it has a very low incidence of side effects.
