Chlorpheniramine Maleate Dosage

Chlorpheniramine maleate is a common allergy medication.  This first generation antihistamine is use to treat allergy symptoms and the dosage varies by age.

Adult Dosagechlorpheniramine-maleate-dosage

The adult dose is the same for children 12 and older.   Take one 4mg tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed.  Take no more than six 4mg tablets a day (maximum 24mg in a 24 hour period).

Child Dosage

Children 6 to 12 years old.  Take 2mg every four to six hours.  No more than 12mg in 24 hours.
