Does Losartan have sulfa in it?

Losartan (sometimes listed as losartan potassium) does not contain sulfa. People with sulfa sensitivities can take losartan. However, if the Losartan has hydrochlorothiazide [hctz] added  you should avoid taking The diuretic HCTZ is frequently used in conjunction with losartan and the combination is best avoided by those with sulfa allergies.  Although, losartan is generally well tolerated, everyone who uses losartan should still watch for side effects. Be sure to talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you feel you are experiencing problems with any of your medications.
