Maxzide – this is a US brand name for a combination pill used for controlling blood pressure. It contains hydrochlorothiazide (hctz) and triamterene. The two ingredients are both diuretics or water pills. They assist in removing excess fluid from the body and that lowers blood pressure. It is available in two strengths 50mg/75mg and 25mg/37.5mg. The common dose varies from 1/2 to two tablets once a day and is generally taken in the morning.

Methyldopa – is an Alpha-Andrenergic Inhibitor and Alpha2-adrengeric agonist. It is not commonly used. It is available in 250mg and 500mg tablets and usually take two to three times a day.

Metoprolol Succinate and Metoprolol Tartrate – They are both beta blockers and are used for blood pressure control and certain heart conditions. The Succinate version is available in 25mg, 50mg, 100mg and 200mg tablets. Metoprolol Succinate is usually taken once a day, but may be taken twice daily. The Tartrate version is available in 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. Metoprolol Tartrate is most often taken two times per day.

Micardis and Micardis HCT is a US and Canadian brand name for Telmisartan and the combination product containing Telmisartan and hydrochlorthiazide (HCTZ). Telmisartan is a Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker and HCTZ is a diuretic or water pill. The telmisartan is available in 20mg, 40mg and 80mg and is generally taken once per day. The combination with HCTZ is available in 40mg/12.5mg, 8omg/12.5mg and 80mg/25mg. The combination product is usually taken once a day in the morning.

Midodrine this is an alpha agonist and is use to treat certain types of low blood pressure. It is available in 2.5mg, 5mg and 10mg tablets and is most often give three times a day.list of blood pressure medications that start with M

Minoxidil oral tablets are usually reserved for severe high blood presser.  It is often combined with other blood pressure medications on the rare occasion it is used. It is available in 2.5mg and 10mg tablets and generally is taken once or twice a day.

Moexipril and Moexipril/Hydrochlorthiazide(HCTZ). Sold in the US under the name brand Univasc and Uniretic. Moexipril is an ACE inhibitor and HCTZ is a diuretic or water pill. Moexipril is available in 7.5mg and 15mg tablets and usually taken once a day one hour before eating. The combination with HCTZ is available in 7.5mg/12.5mg, 15mg/12.5mg and 15mg/25mg it is take once or twice a day one hour before a meal.
