Is losartan a beta blocker? How does losartan potassium work in the body?
Losartan is not a beta blocker. It is from a class of medications called Angiotensin-Receptor Blockers(ARBs). ARBs lower blood pressure by cause blood vessels in the body to relax and that lowers blood pressure. ARBs may also effect electrolytes like potassium and sodium.
